Natural body cleansers

Body cleansers are readily available in vast varieties and forms. They can be found in most cosmetics and healthcare stores. Even though people can easily buy and use ready-made cleansers, there are many who would prefer natural body cleansers which doesn’t possess any harmful chemicals. Body Cleansers made out of natural ingredients pose no side effects to the skin and are manufactured under controlled environment.

Body cleansers come in different forms and for different areas of the body. One form of body cleanser is known as a Body Scrub. They are used to remove the layer of dead skin so that the fresh, new skin underneath it is revealed. Body scrubs are generally safe though they should only be used twice a week at most. To make your own natural body scrub, mix together two table spoons of brown sugar with two table spoons of olive oil. Keep stirring until the mixture turns into a smooth cream. This mixture can then be used in the shower.

The most recognized cleansers are those that are used on the face. That is because the face is what gets noticed the most and people work hard to keep it looking fresh and revitalized. You can make a natural skin facial cream simply using a blender or food processor. Peel, slice and juice one quarter of a cucumber and mix it with two tablespoons of cooked oatmeal and two tablespoons of regular yoghurt. Blend until it turns into a smooth cream. This can then be applied on the face and removed using warm water. If excess facial cream is made, it can be stored in a refrigerator and reused for up to three days.

One of the most coveted commercial natural body cleansers are the ones containing emollients sunflower or soybean oil. These cleansers are usually considered better than that of the humectant enriched cleansers because of their moisturizing and milder characteristics. The surfactants being used in these types of cleansers are milder in nature and causes minimal irritation to the skin. Since emollients are not water soluble, they retain over the skin and keep it moisturized. Most of the emollient enriched body cleansers would contain water, soybean oil or sunflower oil (emollients) and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate.

However, aside from external body cleansers, the most important cleanser is that which is able to wash and purify the inside of the body. This is vital because the body can easily collect harmful pollutants that may cause illnesses unless cleansed properly. You can make such a body cleanser using simple objects that you can find in your kitchen cabinets and refrigerator.

Take a large pot and pour in it 56 ounces of water, eight ounces of cranberry juice, three quarters of a cup or orange juice and a quarter of a cup of lemon juice. Place this over a stove and keep heating until it reaches a complete boil. While reducing the mixture down to a simmer, slowly add in a quarter of a teaspoon of nutmeg, ground ginger and cinnamon each, using a whisk. Keep the mixture in a simmer for another ten minutes and leave it to cool in your refrigerator overnight. The next day you may begin cleansing the inside of your body by drinking nothing but this drink either warm or hot. It is vital that you do not eat anything else as it is a part of the cleansing process. If you feel hungry, you can have an acidic fruit such as an orange. It is also important to get plenty of rest and a good sleep that night. You can begin the next day with your usual breakfast and routine.
