After a certain age, the skin starts to lose its once vibrant health and begins to show signs of aging. Wrinkles, dryness, and spots are among the most common signs of aging skin. Wrinkles happen due to the loss of elasticity of the skin, where age spots or liver spots occur because of sun exposure. It is a very common problem and most anti-aging creams promise to battle this crisis. Plenty of anti-aging creams are available over the counter at pharmacy’s or at high end cosmetics store. The price range varies considering brand names and content.
Solar lentigo is another name for age spots which can be roughly translated to sun spots. Age spits mostly occurs due to sun exposure and this is why it is most visible on face, arms and neck. They usually appear in big freckles and people with fair skin have a better chance of having them due to their lack of melanin in the skin texture. Fair skin cannot cope with the sun, and this result as multiple pigmentations on different areas of the skin, but dark skin can avoid this issue. Age spots range from brown to red to dark brown and appear as freckles. It’s not just that they cause an insecurity appearance wise but they also may cause skin dryness and flakiness due to more exposure in the sun.
Most anti-aging cream battles age spots by bleaching the area. Hydroquinone is one of the main ingredients that works as a bleaching agent and tends to peel off the skin affected with spots gradually over time. However this tends to make the skin extremely dry. This is why Age spot removal creams also come with thick moisturizers with vitamins which not only helps to keep the skin hydrated but boosts the skins elasticity too to fight wrinkles from appearing. But doctors suggest that bleaching creams are not sufficient to treat age spots because they tend to peel off the area around the spot rather than the spot itself which leaves a visible ring around the spot.
Retin-A is also a very popular choice for age spot removal but it is not recommended for sensitive skins. However, it should be used with sunscreen since Retin- A tends make the skin very vulnerable in direct sunlight.
There are plenty of other alternative options than the intense dermatological creams. L’Oreal Dermo-Expertise Age Perfect for Mature Skin has day and night creams that help to fight age spots and wrinkles for just fewer than 20 dollars. Reviva Labs Brown Spot Skin Lightening Night Cream is available under 10 dollars and comes with sunscreen as well. Reviva also has a brown spot skin lightning night gel that works as a topical bleacher. For a better brand and better reviews Arbonne Revelage Age Spot Brightening Duo has a set of day cream and night serum. It is available for about 100 dollars but it seems like it lives up to its expensive mark up because of the raving customer satisfaction.
Ultimately it is down to sunscreens to protect the skin from more damage. Using a very strong sunscreen with at least SPF 30 is essential to make sure the anti-aging spots creams work efficiently. Protecting the skin from the sun by using umbrellas and wearing long sleeves is also recommended. Cryotherapy can help too, where doctors tend to freeze the area affected with spots and then treats it. Ultimately, for stubborn age spots, laser surgery is an option too. Dermatologists recommend this if the spots don’t fade away after a very long time of treating with creams. It takes about 3 to 5 sessions to make sure the age spots fade. But they can still appear back if there aren’t proper measures taken to fight further skin damages.
Age spot removal creams that are marketed by cosmetic companies are good for treating age spots at early stages but if the spots start to spread or becomes more dark and intense it is best to consult a dermatologist immediately before the condition gets more worse.

Hi, I’m looking for help with my problem. I have discovered a number of fine wrinkles around my eyes and mouth and cannot find anything to hide them. I don’t want to have an operation yet although I would think about Botox if nothing else helped.
Any suggestions?
I have found Arbonne products work. They’re botaically based products. The Re9 Advanced System (anti-aging) includes Algae Extract which supports collagen through moisturization, Anti-oxidant rich w/vitamins A, C, E & Alpha Lipoic Acid. Beech Tree Extract is good for normal to dry skin. Basically it increases the skin cells intake of oxygens which improves moisture retention and diminishes fine lines. I can send you samples.
