The HCG diet is a very strict dieting strategy that severely limits caloric intake. This is actually an understatement because the diet allows only 500 calories per day. This restriction, along with daily injections of a synthetically produced hormone, HCG, gives the diet its uniqueness. The original idea was that it would help men and women lose fat (and, therefore, weight) and keep it off after returning to a more normal dietary pattern.
How Does the Diet Work?
HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, is a hormone naturally produced in large amounts by the placenta during pregnancy. The hormone essentially controls the woman’s metabolic functions during this time. It allows for the fetus to receive the nutrients it needs even if the mother is restricting or not eating enough. The baby can live off the mother’s fat stores, and so the idea developed to turn this hormone into a diet. If injected with the hormone, a person’s fat stores will basically be depleted. An injection is given every day, except for the last three, for the duration of the diet, which only lasts for about a month. When the injected hormones take effect, the dieter can more easily be satisfied with 500 calories per day because fat stores are released to provide the energy needed. The foods consumed, to maximize hunger with so little quantities, should be high in protein and low in carbohydrates, fats, and void of junk foods.
HCG Recipes
The problem with going on this diet is that your normal, everyday cookbooks temporarily become useless. However, there are recipes that can be adapted, and some that have been produced specifically for this diet. All of the following recipes are suitable because they are low in calories and fat.
Fruit Salad
Try this sweet mixture of fresh fruits for breakfast!
Mix all together and enjoy!
Lettuce wraps
The fiber in the lettuce and vegetables, and the protein in the meat give a lasting feeling of fullness.
Brown the ground beef or turkey. Sauté vegetables in a medium-sized pan coated in cooking spray. Wrap both the meat and vegetables in lettuce leaves.
Shish Kabobs
This is not a cut and dry recipe; there are many variations with which to experiment!
Put all on skewers. Season with herbs and lemon juice prior to grilling. Grill until cooked thoroughly.
Lively Citrus Basil Chicken
This dish is easy to throw together and is a perfect dinner for the rest of the family who isn’t even on the diet!
Place a medium-sized skillet onto stove top; coat with cooking spray. Add chicken and lightly coat with salt and pepper; drizzle with lemon juice and extra water, if needed. Cook 3-4 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes, chopped orange, and basil. Simmer on low, for desired amount of marinating time, turning halfway through. Serve chicken on lettuce leaves.
Foil Baked Fish
A simple and satisfying twist on fish.
Put fish in foil (large enough to wrap around and seal). Drizzle with lemon juice and zest some of the rind around the fish. Season with salt, pepper, and dill. Bake in oven at 350 degrees Centigrade until cooked through.
Italian Herbed Fish and Broccoli
This meal is packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals.
Put all spices, salt and pepper into the bottom of a medium-sized skillet. Add fish and drizzle with the lemon. Add broccoli and tomato with a few tablespoons of water over low-medium heat until fish is cooked through. Pour juices over fish and serve with lemon wedges.
Sweet ‘n Sour Lemonade
Perfect for anytime of day!
Place water in a pitcher. Add the lemon juice and sweetener; stir. Add desired amount of ice. Garnish with sliced lemons.
Warm Apple Dessert
Craving some apple pie? This is a perfect substitute!
Dust apples with cinnamon and sweetener and combine in a microwaveable bowl. Heat the microwave for 2 minutes, or until apples are warm and to desired tenderness.

The point of the HCG is to help your body break down food easier. Your body can not break down two different vegetables at once. Most of the recipes here have more than one vegetable in the recipe. These are not going to help anyone. You cant mix your fruits either. If you are on this diet make sure you read up on it real good because the slightest cheat will make you gain half a pound.
I mix the veggies and have lost over a pound per day, with no gains. Not certain where you’re getting your info!
KS
My husband is on this diet and he was trained on it by some of the developers. He was told that he SHOULD mix the fruits and veggies for each meal because it’s about maintaining your insulin level, not about breaking down the food easier. Some vegetables burn faster than others because of the carbohydrate level, etc., so it’s better to eat two different kinds together to keep a constant fat burning level going on in your body. When one burns faster and is gone, the other one can keep your body burning. Same with the fruits. Actually even more so with the fruits because fruit tends to have a higher sugar level.
can you get bananas, strawberries, pineapples and blueberries all at once, in what amounts?
The amounts of meat can’t be correct either as the recipe above said a pound of ground beef and broccoli is not one of the allowed veggies. If you read the original diet book written by the person who invented it, Dr. Simoneon, you will see these things are wrong.
You make bulk amounts and eat per portions so you don’t have to keep making 1 meal at a time.
As someone who’s personally coached over 6,000 people on the diet I can assure you you are not supposed to mix your veggies. Get the instructions before starting. However, you can get away with mixing your veggies, but I can attest to the fact that you will lose quicker if you follow the original instructions to a “T”.
Tresia has a point. Pounds and Inches by Dr. Simeon explicitly says not to mix the veggies or the fruits. You can have one item of veggie and one item of fruit together but that’s it AND blueberries, banana and pineapple are not even options on the diet (THAT recipe is a disaster)! There are only FOUR fruits to choose from and he explains that his limited veggie and fruit option is FOR A REASON. I’d trust the originator of the diet and not everyones “take” on it.
I learned the hard way. My friend told me I can have cabbage. I gained half a pound the next day.
I will definitely stick with the originator Dr.Simeon. I lost 8 lbs. in one week. I am so happy and determined to stick with the program. No more of other HCG recipes.
Cabbage is allowed. the exact diet says “Breakfast: Tea or coee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoon of milk
is allowed in a 24 hour period. Saccharin or stevia may be used as a sweetener.
LUNCH :
1. 100 grams (4 oz) of lean protein. You may choose from beef, chicken, veal, fresh white
sh, lobster, crab or shrimp. Weigh the meat raw and trim any visible fat before cooking.
No tuna, salmon or eel are allowed.
2. Choose only one vegetable and eat 2 cups. You may choose from cabbage, cucumber,
asparagus, red radish, onion, celery, tomatoes, green salad, spinach, fennel, chard,
chicory or beet greens. You may only eat one type of vegetable per meal.
3. One grissini breadstick or one slice of melba toast
DINNER : SAME AS LUNCH
SNACKS :
You may have a snack two times per day. We recommend having one in the morning and
one after dinner. You may choose from an apple, a half of a grapefruit or a handful of strawberries
(approximately 6-9 berries)
You can have oranges as a fruit choice also.
You guys are smarter than this! You can save $$$$$ and lose weight at the same time if you JUST eat those same recipes X’s 3 and skip the HCG ! Good luck to all …. and please mix your fruits and veggies.
Yes, you will lose the weight BUT NOT the problem fat on the problem areas. You obviously did not read the book from Dr Simeons, or the book by Kevin Trudeau explaining how this works since your comment is exactly one mentioned in the book. You will probably lose some of your good fat that is essential to your body. You dont want to lose this. Read the book!!
Without the HCG, your body will think it is starving, and will hold on to the fat. With the HCG, your body will deplete the stored fat for energy. According to the book, and from other info I have read, that makes sense.
Google the book “pounds and inches” by Dr A.T.W. Siemons It will tell you right there you should NOT do that.. it will make your body have all kinds of issues. Read the book.. not once.. but OVER and OVER as you will get something new every time you read it.
Losing weight isn’t about what you can and can’t eat; it’s how you regulate it. If you can’t mix veggies and fruits, you better skip out on salad because that’s what a salad is. As for blueberries? They are one of the best fruits for you. They have essential antioxidants that actually help you lose weight. You can’t just eat yourself thin you have to workout too. You shouldn’t have to be afraid of the amount of calories you eat, just the right balance to keep your body running healthy with proper eating habits and regular exercise.
From what I’ve understood from reading Pounds and Inches it is most certainly rue that there are very many ways of reducing weight and fat in the human body and THIS IS ONLY ONE OF THEM… however if you are going to use this method you have to stick to the protocols 100% or there is no point in doing it…
And while blueberries ARE a great source of antioxidants, they are not suitable foods to eat on this particular diet…. nor is hefty exercise necessarily recommended on this regime…
Every diet is different and you must respect that… mix and match if you like but you won’t necessarily get the results you want.
Your call….
I am on Phase 2 Day 3 second round and have lost 8 pounds in 2 days doing this Raw Vegan. We make green smoothies and eat a large salad and pretty much if we get too hungry we just eat something raw. I was skeptical after doing it the first time around with chicken and meats but this time it’s already working much faster and I don’t feel as hungry.
I was just wandering what exactly have you been putting in your green smoothies and salads. I want to do it as a raw vegan but want to lose and not gain. Please answer back…thank you!
Yes please tell me what do you put in your green smoothies I really want to do this. Please write back soon.I am on the hcg diet I have been on this diet for 4 days now and have seen very little results so I want to try your smoothies way.thanks
hi jennifer
please explain what kind of things and how much of it u ate on vegan style diet. I am not found of meat and chicken and have been a vegan for 3 months and find it easier so if i can be that and do hcg will be happy. also which website u bought your hcg drops from? please reply. tx a million
My wife and I have been on the HCG diet for 11 days as of 31.5.2011. I have lost 5.4 kgs and my wife has lost 3.2kgs. for lunch and tea we are eating 3-4 veges with our 100gms of meat. I haven’t been told that you cant eat more than one vege. It’s the best thing since sliced bread. We are both feeling very positive about the diet and changing our eating habits. Iceburg lettuces are the best who cares if they have a little sugar
Right now I am eating some cabbage cooked in chicken broth. I added a stalk of celery, sliced, and my cooked chicken chunks. It is delicious! I have averaged 1/2 lb loss per day. Love this diet!
I am about to finish my first week of the hCG protocol diet. I do love it! I think when it comes to the Internet, we can sometimes get ourselves in trouble with TOO much information. It really makes it hard for a consumer to cipher through the facts, the gimmicks, the truth and the just plain ignorance. And, just as an opinion, as much as I like to read everyones blogs on all sorts of things, I think they are what can get us confused the most. One thing I do know is this, hCG is a controlled substance and requires a prescription to obtain it. Remember that when and if purchasing online.
I think Lynn B. brings up a main point in all of these contradictions; go to the source of the knowledge – the creator of the diet. Go to http://www.poundsandinches.com and you can download and save Dr. Simeons book – Pounds and Inches – where he covers some really good information on this diet and how and why it works. Then I would just stick to recipes and diet protocol that is as close to that as possible, or who follows it exactly. I know our desire is to follow our taste buds, and we are willing to find those recipes that accommodate them, even when way down inside we know we shouldn’t. :o) I’ve lost 8.8 lbs. in four days! Also, if you want some other information that explains the brown fat and white fat, here is the website to the place I go to – http://www.akweightloss.com. It’s called The Weightloss Institute of Alaska. They explain things well and answers questions on their FAQ page. Best of luck to you all – God bless! :o)
i agree with Lemony. I am now on my 4th day of phase 2, followed everything to a tee and have lost 12.5 lbs. As I was sitting here reading all of the blogs, there was definite confusion. It seems that there are companies out there providing different information than what Dr. S. intended for the diet.
Hey, sorry, I gave you the wrong link for the pdf book Pounds and Inches by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons. This link should open up for a download and then open up your pdf upon your approval -www.envisionsurgery.com/uploads/pdf/panda_abridged.pdf . Thanks!
Okay, I was tricked. That last correction was only a pdf that outlined a few things in his book. I’m sorry, I stumbled upon it the other night and thought for sure I remembered from where. I do apologize. Go to http://www.hcgloss.com and at the top click on Pounds and Inches. I have not read any or all information on this site yet, so I have no opinion on it other than I think it’s very cool that they offer Dr. Simeons book in its entirety for free to read for our benefit. Please be sure to read this book, or at least the protocol for the diet.
Thanks – again. 🙂
I started the diet on Monday 6/14/2010. I started at 280lbs and my goal is to lose almost 100lbs by December of this year. Not totally on this diet mind you but this will be a kickstart to it. For me, there are 2 reasons to try this diet. First, for my health. Second, I decided to try this as an experiment and will be documenting everything from the when, what, where and how I am doing on the diet. Stay tune as this will be a good source for info from me as I am pretty thorough.
I started Mine on the same day as You. I hate this diet! I have lost 5lbs. But I am starving all day long,My head is killing Me 24-7<and I have no energy what so ever. I'm not to sure about this whole thing!
I started the diet the same time as you have lost 15lb in the first week and over 10 inches. The head ache and the hunger has gone away some days I still struggle for energy but it seems to be working itself out.
Yall are right on the 7th day I woke up and i was like DAMN!! I’m not hungry anymore.Every since then it has been nothing but great.I do get hungry at times but i work through it,and it is sooooo much easier to do that now.I’ve lost 10 pounds and feeling so much better.
I started this diet 10 days ago and i weight 441 pounds and ate maybe 4500 cal. a day. i thought i was going to kill me to do this and the first few days was very tough. Today i had my little lunch and felt so full like i did when i would eat twenty winds. and today day ten I have lost 32 pounds.
I was told that if you have headaches and or muscle aches to drink Zero water, you need electrolights.
Brittany,
I’ve been on HCG Diet under a Diet Specialist Doctor starting my 7th week now & had lost 18 lbs total at my last Dr. visit. It is difficult, however it does work if can stick with it..As far as my personal experience, the headaches are common because your body is detoxing..Whenever we go from eating what we desire that isn’t always the best for our body, to any type of healthy eating/diet, our body will naturally detox itself to get rid of the toxins that have setup due to poor eating habits..BUT, you will start to feeling so much better as time goes on! The length of time varies according to how much impurities/toxins we have built up. P.S. You may feel like your starving on 500 calories per day, but once your body adjust, you’ll find that the guidelines/amounts that we can eat is more than you’ll want sometimes.. lol
You can try Yerba Mate tea it helps with your energy levels and appetite suppressant, you can drink this for breakfast and between meals. You will only feel like you are starving for a couple of days and then it will go away. Try having your fruit in between your meals. Don’t give up! this is a good diet that will work for you!
Tosha, how did you do? I started this diet at the beginning of summer too and starved to death! I didn’t think the diet was for me but i just started again last Monday. I am not hungry at all, in fact i am finding it hard to eat all of my meals. I think i had a bad batch the first time because i can sure tell a difference this time around! :o)
joanna, where did you order your second set of drops from?? I bought 2 bottles for my husband and I off the internet, (ebay) and like yourself …I am finding myself hungry ALL the time!!! Wondering if we got a bad batch:-(
be careful ordering online! a lot are not “true” HCG drops!!!
I have found the drops at my local health food store I haven’t started my diet yet but a friend and her hubby bought some freeze dried hcg and lost over 25LBs each the first 3 weeks and they said never felt hungry so another friend and I said what so we have to lose and are going to start Sat. we are doing the same as my fried we so have to mix it but it seemed to work Good luck
hI joanna,
I bought mine off of ebay too.under the seller power max nutrition. but I am not finding myself being hungry at all! you can also buy the drops from directly from their website 🙂
Hello –
Anyone who thinks their drops might be “a bad batch” can test them with a pregnancy test. Drop a few drops on the stick. If it comes out positive, your drops are good.
I have just started this HCG diet, however, have done lots of research. I found that with lap band, this hcg diet and other low caloried diets, etc you have to have nutrition. I found 17 raw whole foods..fruits and vegetables….real food …in a capsule. The bottle has a nutriltion facts label (food label) on the bottles..NO Sugar, salt or water…no heat is applied to dry the juices..10 calories and 2 carbs but the nutrition benefit from 17 raw fruits and vegetables. Lots of research on the website…it is unbelieveable.

Why be thin if you can not walk across the room.
The Nov Issue of Health …on page 146 …Dr David Katz, Yale Unversity. says take Juice Plus…
After 7 days, I have lost 16lbs. My energy levels are average and on some days better. Today I have felt the best so far. If you are having headaches or lack of energy, you need to drink more water and try spreading out the food all day long. That will make a big difference. I drink on average 1 pint of water every 2 hours. The mornings will always be the hardest but drink lots of water and keep yourself busy to keep your mind off of it.
I agree. Drinking alot of water, both hot and cold liquids really help with hunger. I have found hot liquids to be more helpful with hunger. That’s hard to do when it’s 90 degrees outside…but coffee and hot tea with stevia drops…vanilla creme…yummy…really do help a lot. I am on my 5th injection. I don’t think I loaded to capacity…I only gained 2 pounds during the loading days..but since I have started the 500 calorie diet I have already lost 5 pounds in just 2 days! I’m loving this diet so far! I’m on track to lose 10 pounds in just 4 days of the diet! I’m 5’8 and weighed 212 lbs after the two loading days. I’m at 207 after 5 total injections (including the 2 injections I took while loading)
Starving but thin….. Started this diet with my mom, sister, aunt and brother-in-law. I have lost a total of 15inch in 9days 🙂 Started at 141lbs and I am now at 133.6 lbs. size 8 to a comfortable 6. I’m a junk food addict. I only need a few more lbs to go. looking for new recipes. Everything taste the same at this point. Pretty depressed but love weighing every morning.
I am on day 8 of this diet and have lost 14 lbs so far but no inches in the waist. My clothes fit me the same as before the diet. Well maybe a little looser but not loose enough to fit into a smaller size. I also am looking for new recipes because I have also been a little depressed about the food choices we have to eat.
I have a few suggestions for you guys- but remember, they are working for me, and not necessarily for everyone. Try them to see how it affects you. 1) is a great BBQ type sauce I have made, that I use for dipping, flavoring, and even as a salad dressing – I first baked a lean beef roast, then put the juices in the fridge overnight, to let the fat harden. then I sifted it, to remove all of the fat- so really just ended up with a flavorful broth. Then, I added one small can of tomato paste, about 8 or 10 dashes of liquid smoke flavoring, a few drops of Stevia (an approved sweetener) and a few tablespoons of Braggs liquid Aminos (if you havn’t tried this, it is alot like soy sauce but much better for you and quite delicious). I have been using the sauce in one way or another, every day for a week, and still lost 8 lbs, so seems to be fine.
2) is some Dole Mandarin Orange slices, packed in their own juice- it is a very convenient way to take your fruit with you, and nice and sweet, so a good treat.
3) My favorite soup is a twist on Beef Bourguignon – I used lean beef steak, browned, a small can of tomatoe paste, a few cups of beef broth, some sauteed onion and garlic, a few tablespoons of Braggs, a few drops of Stevia, and some Thyme, salt and pepper.
4) I just found a soda named Zevia, that is all natural and uses Stevia for the sweetener, it tastes alot like Sprite or &-up, and kind of a nice treat. They had a cola and this Sprite type soda- I didnt get the cola, but probably pretty good.
5) Dried Apple slices – you can either buy them in a bag at many health food stores, or Festival Foods sells them in the naturalf food section- or you can do them yourself if you have a dehydrator – not quite the same as chips or anything, but they do add some variety. Just make sure they are just apples, with no sugar, and you can even add some cinnamon or flavored Stevia to make them even better.
—————- There, just a few ideas to keep it from getting too boring. I like to cook, so have tried hard to find some different ways to add in variety. If you would like some more tips, feel free to drop me a line. email: hacketta@schneider.com
Hi all, I found a couple of great things over the weekend, that I wanted to share. One is a recipe that I made below- it made a nice creamy soup, which is hard to come by on this diet – and the other is a Chinese flavored meal. My family wanted me to make my General Tso’s Chicken recipe, but of course, I cannot have that, so I tried adapting it a bit so that I could partake as well. (see recipes below- one note- some say you should not mix veggies, but onions and herbs etc. are ok- that is the philosophy I go by, and it works for me- try them for yourself and keep a close eye on the scale- that will tell you if it works for you too)
I also found some fabulous dried fruits that are very crispy, and sweet- and 100% fruit. We had a road trip on Friday , and I had those while everyone else was having chips- it really helped me stay on track. I found them in a grocery store that has a really great Natural Foods section, but you can also order them online if they are not available in your area. The apples are sold in a single serving packet, so you don’t over-eat, and about the same amount of calories as 1 apple – but you get a pretty good sized serving.
http://www.amazon.com/Sensible-Foods-Apple-Harvest-Organic/dp/B000CMHRHA
The strawberries are sold in a bigger bag, but can easily be weighed out. They were a nice change of pace, and great for when you are on the run. This same company also has dried apples as well, but I did not buy those since I got the ones above.

Cream of celery soup
Chicken broth – 1 cup
¼ Onion- chopped
Celery – chopped (I used 4 or 5 stalks)
Garlic – 1 tsp (or to taste)
Milk- 1 Tbsp (if you didn’t already use yours for the day)
Water – 1 cup
Chicken – chopped and cooked through (I simmered it in a little broth ahead of time)
Basil – about ¼ cup fresh, if available – if dried, use a few tablespoons
Salt and Pepper
Seasoning blend – optional – (if you have one you like- I like one called Bragg’s Seasoning Blend)
I simmered the onion, garlic, and celery in a little broth. Once cooked through, I added the remaining broth and milk (if using) and blended a little bit- not till completely smooth, but till creamy (I used an immersion blender if you have one). Add in the water, chicken, basil, and seasonings, and heat till bubbly.
Asian Chicken
½ cup to 1 cup chicken broth – (depending on if desired consistency- if adding your vegetable, or making as a soup use a little more)
Garlic- 1 to 2 tsp depending on taste
¼ Onion – chopped or ¼ cup green onions
Chicken – chopped
Ginger – fresh- 1 to 2 tbsp finely chopped- depending on taste
1/8 cup Braggs liquid Amino’s
1/8 cup white vinegar
Dried or fresh chili’s or chili paste (no msg or sugar etc.)- depending on taste
Basil – fresh – about ¼ cup chopped
Sauté the garlic and onion in a little broth till translucent, add in chicken and ginger and sauté till cooked through (add more broth as needed).
Add in remaining ingredients and cook to desired consistency. I made a double batch and ate 1 as meal the first night, and then added another ½ cup broth and ½ cup water for a soup the next day – both were very good.
so tell me did you only do maintenance phase for 2 weeks. most places you read tell you not to stay on gtts for over 40 days and take a 3 to 6 week break before restarting phase 2. i have had great success with this diet and am really wanting to get back to it as soon as possible. i have lost 26 lbs in 21 days.
Native Healing Ways is back open with a new owner and it is an amazing place to go to get this diet! There are some really nice people working there and they really take care of you. The have a really good special going right now and if you mention Samantha you will get your first B12 FREE!
Does anyone know if You can eat polenta during the 40 day”s of the HCG diet??
You cannot eat polenta as it is made from corn which is not one of the allowable foods.
You are all using the HCG as well the the diet right? Not just doing the VLCD?
Day 14. Even thought official weighing is tomorrow morning, today I am at 23lbs lost. I expect another pound tomorrow. I have only 7 days on the drops and an additional 3 days on the 500 cal diet. I expect to be down 35lbs total for the 3 weeks of this diet. Nice starter. It will be nice to eat a little more but I will need to as I will be in the gym hardcore. I’d like to lose 75lbs total by December with muscle building. It will be hard but I will have to do some good cardio workouts to make it happen.
Question where you taking the Weight Loss Drops
Or the Weight Off Drops
Stevo I’m also on the sub-lingual drops. Id like to contact you regarding recipes you use and amount of drops you use during the day… I’d like to see if i can achieve better results doing what you’re doing
Hey, I am so happy to have found this “genuine” site, I am on day 6, down 11#. I have had zero energy the last couple of days, but your advice about water etc will hopefully get me through to the next few days. I too am beginning to spread out the food through out the day. Just had my 1/2 grapefruit with tea mid morning, so even though no fruit with lunch.. I feel a bit better and couldn’t get to lunch without it. I have a total of 65# to lose from start to finish. I will keep you posted!
I am on day 8 of this diet. I was curious to know how much you ended losing on HCG?
These are great recipes. It reminds me of a “flat belly/anti-bloat” diet my mom was doing. great meals.
Since you are a doctor, I was wondering what you thought of this hCG Diet? I have read in MayoClinic.com that this diet is not good and the drops are a farse as they are only produced by pregnant women. I have been contemplating this diet and my husband says that he doesn’t want me to try something and be disappointed if it fails. However, I am looking at the diet recipes and it looks as though someone can lose the weight with just this diet rather than the drops. Is this true? I would appreciate any feed back from you, a doctor. Thank you.
Today is my 4th day on this diet and I’ve lost 2 pounds, I would like to see different recipes…anyone please??
is it ok to have fruit on breakfast???
Congratulations! You can have fruit for breakfast, but you need to leave the fruit off one of your other meals. Always remember, stay at 500 calories or less per day.
I’m starting my second round of HCG. I lost 20 lbs in 30 days and have about 20 more to go. If you get hungry, just take more HCG. It’s not going to hurt you.
One recipie I did and loved is:
1/4 lb of 96% lean beef
1 tomato
Shredded lettuce
Onion
Minced garlic
Salt
Cilanto
Cook the ground beef in water to keep it moist
Drain any extra water and add the garlic, onion and cilantro
Plate the mixture and add your tomato sliced or diced tomato and lettuce
It makes a great salad but gives you the fullness from the beef as well.
Good luck to everyone. Keep going, it pays off!
Has anyone heard injections or drops, or is it just a preference. Not really much of a shot person.
Yes hcg drops are available. Just google online. Sublingual (underneath tongue) – its the one I’m going to try. I’m not a shot person either. http://hcgdietinfo.com – that’s where i’ve been reading up on a ton of info regarding this program. I’m so excited. Good Luck!
I found this article explaining the pros and cons of using hcg drops and hcg injections:
http://www.hcgweightloss.com/oral-hcg-vs-hcg-shots-for-weight-loss/
Hope it helps!
Hi Linda,
I would disagree that Oral HCG is more convenient. HCG Injections using sub-Q needles are almost painless. Injections are taken in the stomach. Please refer to our Injection Video located at HCGInjectionKit.com. It takes about 1 minute to give yourself an injection in the morning and then you are free to go about you business for the rest of the day. Oral HCG has to be held under your tongue for a number of minutes twice a day. We sell both Injection Kits and Supply Kits, however, we sell about 10 HCG injection supply kits to each Oral HCG Supply Kit. Injections are the preferred method for our customers. For those who are afraid of injections. There is nothing to worry about. Take two fingers and give yourself a little pinch on your tummy. If you did not mind the pain, then give our injection kit a try. I promise you will love the convenience.
Thank you,
K. LeMoyne Adams – Owner – HCGInjectionKit.com & HCGSublingualKit.com
Hi Linda,
HCG injections prove to be some what more effective than Oral (Sublingual) HCG. Weight loss physicians state that when following the HCG Diet Protocol it has been shown that “Homeopathic HCG” drops purchased over the Internet do not contain sufficient levels of the HCG hormone that is required to produce lean muscle sparing effects and access stored fat reserves. For this reason, it is best that HCG be mixed by the customer and then refrigerated for the best result.
My wife and I actually did a spray that we got from “My Fat Cure” which is supposed to be a “natural” substitute. I don’t know how much I buy that, but it’s been working great for us. We did a first round back in January and both reached our lowest weights ever. We’ve just started another round now, since we’d put on a few pounds and had goals to be just a bit lower yet. (Plus we just came back from vacation and let our eating run wild!) It’s working for us, anyway – through one full round, and starting on a second. Good luck!
I cringe at the thought of injections, and have not tried them on this program, but I have been on the HCG sublingual. I did it a year ago and lost 52 lbs. I was able to keep most of it off. I did get a little out of control over the holidays, so decided to do another round. I am now on day 5 and down 8.2 lbs. I love this diet!! Yes, it is restrictive, but there is no other diet that produces this kind of results- believe me- I have tried them all. I certainly think the drops are convenient, it only takes a second to drop them in your mouth, and no pain, or worries of hurting yourself – and they worked great for me!
One more thing- I found a “recipe” for mixing your own drops, using the injectible grade HCG, and it is working great. much cheaper that way. I know some people will say you should not mix them yourself, but- remember, I lost 52 lbs, with no problems, and saved myself $100’s by mixing it myself.
here it is:
5000 IU hCG, 13ml of sublingual B12 or distilled water, & 2ml of clear alcohol (like gin or vodka etc, as a preservative). Add 2ml of alcohol to the hCG, transfer it all into a brown bottle with a dropper (I used a bottle from Stevia drops, which is the best sweetener for this diet), and add the additional 13ml of B12/water. Agitate & refrigerate.

How long did it take you to lose the 52 Ibs. and many rounds did you have to do?

YIKES…PLEASE ADVISE…..
I AM ON MY 3RD INJECTION….THE 1ST ONE I DID STANDING UP, STUNG A LITTLE AND LEFT A BUMP AND BRUISE AND SEEMED TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE FOR THE FIRST 10 MIN. THE 2ND AND 3RD SHOTS I DID SITTING DOWN, DID NOT DO THAT AND U CAN NOT EVEN TELL WHERE I PUT THE SHOT.
TODAY IS MY 1ST DAY OF 500 CALORIES. SINCE YESTERDAY I HAVE FELT REALLY FAT AND BLOATED AND WHEN I GOT ON THE SCALE LAST NIGHT I HAD GAINED 3 POUNDS.
WHEN I GOT ON SCALE 1ST THING THIS AM I HAD GAINED 2 MORE. I DID NOT DRINK A 1/2 GALLON OF WATER YESTERDAY BECAUSE I WAS TOLD TO EAT LIKE NORMAL. MY DR DID NOT TELL ME TO EAT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BUT TO EAT WHATEVER I WANTED. SO I DID NOT THINK THAT INCLUDED DRINKING ALL THE WATER TOO. SO I ATE WHATEVER I WANTED UNTIL I WAS REALLY FULL. SO A TOTAL OF 5 POUNDS IN 2 DAYS. AND TODAY I STILL FEEL EXTREMELY FAT AND BLOATED.
I AM WORRIED I AM GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION SINCE EVERYONE ABOVE SEEMS TO BE LOSING WEIGHT THESE FIRST FEW DAYS.
CAN SOMEONE, ANYONE, GIVE ME ANY FEEDBACK/HOPE THAT THIS WILL WORK AND THAT WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING IS NORMAL FOR SOME PEOPLE.
P.S. MY DR. TOLD ME ABOUT THE OILS AND MAKEUP BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT SHAMPOO ARTIFICIAL ACRYLIC NAILS OR EVEN BODY SOAP. I READ SIMEONS INFO AND IT DOES TALK ABOUT THE ORGANIC SHAMPOOS AND SOAPS BUT…..I AM CONFUSED. MY FRIEND HAS DONE THIOS DIET AND BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL. SHE USED REGULAR SOAPS AND SHAMPOOS SO????
WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?
I am on day 8 of the diet and have lost 10 lbs. It is very important to stick to the original Dr. Simeons diet to the letter. Drinking the water is VERY important. I drink 1 gallon of water a day and walk every day.
I use Sleepy Hollow oil free shampoo and conditioner. I saw that Dove soap works – not moisturizing. I bought some clay soap from the natural food store. EVERYTHING with oil has to be avoided. This will conflict with the HCG working on your abnormal fat deposits. The less chemicals you put on yourself (nail polish) during the diet the better. Everything you put on is absorbed by your body and can interfere with your success.
As for shots, if you press the needle against yourself and it hurts, move over slightly to another area until it doesn’t hurt. I also got a bruise.
Sherri,
The GORGE Days at the beginning of your diet are the most important days of your 23 or 43 day diet. Folks are not only encouraged to gain weight during the GORGE but should focus on eating anything and everything that you want. The intent is to gain a few pounds. If the GORGE is ignored and you do not gain weight there is a very good chance that you will have hunger episodes all through out your diet period. The GORGE solves this. The amazing thing about the GORGE is that you will loose everything that you gained on the third or fourth day of your diet. Please feel free to go to our website at HCGInjectionKit.com and print off a copy of our Weight Loss Tracking Sheet which also explains the DIET and the MAINTENANCE PLAN that, when followed, will help you keep the pounds that you have lost off for ever.
I hope this information helps!!

Hint with the shots…. Squeeze fat around your belly button, poke the needle in, let go of the fat and inject. Wait 5 seconds and pull the needle out. A friend who has a diabetic son said this was a good way to do it. I have done the shots for 3 days without bruising. Just go clockwise or counter clockwise. Good luck to all!
Help! I tried native healing ways out of Nashville 3 years ago and I lost 55 pounds in 3 months. I have gained 35 pounds back and I called native healing ways but it appears they are out of business. Back then there were not many companies selling HCG but now that there are hundreds out there I don’t know which company is legitimate. One site says homeopathic HCG is nothing but water and alcohol another says their drops are the best and so on. Is everyone on this board using the same product? Can someone please recommend a good place to purchase HCG? Thanks in advance for your help.
HCGINJECTIONKIT.COM is a good website for information and where to purchase HCG.
Kimberly,
Thank you so much for the plug. We are very happy that your are satisfied with the HCG Injection Supplies that you purchased from HCGInjectionKit.com.
I am on the HCG homeopathic and got it from healthyourself.com. I am on phase 2, day 4 ( I think) and have lost 6-7 lbs……
There is a place called Thin Again in Nashville that sells it. I get mine from there!
I think it’s a good idea to remember that each person, and their body is different. I also think it’s a good idea to remember how long ago Dr. S wrote up his plan. A few things have changed (like the invention of Tylenol Yay!)
I understand that the shot is more effective than the drops, and considering the fact that your injections should be acquired from a doctor, I figure that they’re more consistent. I was a little wigged out by the injection idea, and the first day it took me 2 hours to get the nerve to do it, and since then it’s a breeze. I just stab myself and get it over with. I stand when I do my injection, and I keep my weight on the leg that I am NOT injecting. My friend who has done four rounds (and lost 115lbs) told me that she didn’t alter her personal products at all, she also told me that she mixed her fruits, mixed her veggies, but she kept it all under 500 calories a day. Variety may be the only thing that keeps some people sane (like me). Some of this is hit and miss, what works for one person may not work for you. I’ve had no appetite and I lost weight during the gorge. Aside from a massive headache, it’s been pretty great (the dream about Oreos was a bummer). I’m only on my 4th day. My doctor did tell me that if I found that I was crazy hungry, I needed to call. I actually lost 36 pounds on my own (since January) but hit a plateau and decided to try HCG (thanks to my friends success).
BTW, this is the first decent forum site I’ve run across and think it’s a great way to compare notes.
The massive headache that Heather indicates in her earlier post is 100% normal. You should be prepared for that. I am sure that this is why she was very happy to know that there is this thing called Tylenol. Regarding peoples fear about injections, in my opinion, you should not be as concerned about the little pinch that you feel when you self inject as you should be for the headache that comes on some time during the initial portion of the diet. I would compare the fear of injections with the fear of a child eating way way too much ice cream.
Just wanted to say I only had a little headache. Not bad at all. The injections aren’t anything to worry about either I am on day 8 and they are a breeze. Everyone is different.

Hi I am interested in starting the hcg diet and have seen that your name is mentioned as a reliable seller of injections/drops. However I live in the UK and wonder if you can recommend a reliable seller over here or if indeed you have a market over here yourself? Many thanks
I started the diet on 8/1. I haven’t changed my products, mix my veggies and sometimes go over 500 calories. The first week I lost about 2 pounds a day and since then am losing about a pound a day. Important things I’ve discovered are 1) 7-8 hours of sleep a night is critical to avoid fatigue and headaches, 2) when I changed from regular bottled water to Smart Water (contains electrolytes) it also helped avoid headaches and feeling dehydrated (I was drinking at least 2 liters of water a day but in teased my salt intake from almost nothing to salting everything with sea salt to add flavor), 3) I take a B-12 shot at least once a week, thinking of doing 2 a week, 4) limiting my caffeine has helped increase my energy (even mild dehydration can cause loss of energy), 5) Paradise Tropical Tea (with Triva) completely cured sugar cravings I had the first week (2 quarts is only 24 calories, and Miracle Noodles angel hair pasta (zero calories) are a miracle for me since I’m used to eating when I lounge on the couch watching TV. I do the injections. I started on 200 cc per day and on day 15 increased it to 250 cc per day. I don’t even walk and frequently went over the 500 calories before I increased my dose and I’ve been consistently losing weight. I am DEATHLY afraid of needles but don’t have any trouble injecting myself. My injection tips are: close your eyes just before you pierce the skin with the needle if you’re terrified of needles as I am, once you pierce the skin draw back on the syringe, if blood flows into the syringe you hit a blood vessel and will bruise if you don’t change your injection point (I don’t bother drawing back, I don’t care if I bruise – only bruised once), make sure your injection sites are at least 1 inch apart and 1 inch from the belly button, and I find it easier to inject in my hip. I have my fearless friend give mexmy B-12 shots and she slaps the area a couple times and then suddenly injects me while slapping and I don’t even feel the needle go in and it’s bigger than the hCG needle (I still keep my eyes closed). We’ve developed quite a few delicious recipes that we’re gonna put together in a PDF recipe booklet on the net on e we’re done with our 40 day round. So, hold tight, new and exciting recipes are on the horizon. However, we don’t strictly adhere to the original hCG diet foods and mix our veggies/fruits. For instance, we eat blueberries and broccoli and use zero calorie fake butter and a bit of CoffeeMate zero fat, zero calorie creamer. Our results have still been great.
Could you answer a question for me please. I’ve been on the diet for 10 days and lost 8 pounds the first week staying exactly on the prescribed menu as you described. Apple cider vinegar on my lunch lettuce salad, apple cider vinegar on my cucumber salad at dinner both with 3.5 oz protein. I drink water and tea all day long and I eat an apple for breakfast and strawberries, 1/2 grapefruit or 1/2 orange around 7:00 in evening. For three days of my 10 I have been stuck and lost zero weight. What happened? I did this diet a couple months ago and lost 20 pounds in a month. Gained a little back and wanted to lose another 15 – 20 before I quit. That’s all I need to lose. I had the same type of stall on my second week the first time and realized I was drinking a diet water mixed with club soda to satisfy my sweet cravings. It had zero everything in it but once I stopped drinking it I started losing again. This time I’m right on target with everything I do and can’t figure out what my stall is. Can you help. I don’t mix veggies either.
Are you drinking enough? You need to drink close to 4 litres a day. The heavier your weight, and the more you are losing, the more you need to drink. This diet is also a detox, and when you lose weight your body flushes out the toxins that were stored in your fat. Water, water, water, and tea ,like chamomile. I love chamomile tea before bed. It helps to relax. I have a 1.5 litre bottle of water and I drink 2 of these a day, plus about 4 cups of herb tea. If you find you are at a plateau, go to http://www.hcgloss.com and click on ” pounds and inches” and read through the diet and see where you are not following it exact. You can also go to http://www.amazon.com and buy the book written by Kevin Trudeau (miracle weight loss cure). Hope this helps
Please Help!
I am on day 3 and I fell hungry through the day. I don’t fell extremely hungry but still fell like I need more food. Is there anything I can snack on that will not mess up this diet? Also I can’t really drink water with out Crystal Light Energy Drink Mix. It has 120mg of Caffeine in each packet and I read on here that the more Caffeine you intake the less energy you have. Is 120mg of Caffeine a lot? It also has 10 Calories per packet too. Can anyone help me!
Crystal Light is a DEFEINITE NO NO!! It is junk. ONE reason this diet works is because it speeds up your metabolism, but this stuff slows it down again. You need pure water, water, water, 2-4 litres a day. The more the better. The heavier you are the more you need. Read through the book by Kevin Trudeau(miracle weight loss cure) before you start the diet, and read all the labels on your spices even to make sure that you are not taking spices with sugar or fats and oils in them. And if you are on any drugs at all, you will find thaqt you quickly gain all the weight back after the diet for this same reason. Drugs, diet drinks, energy drinks etc all slow down your metabolism and clog up your body. Stay away from them the rest of your life. If you go back to eating unhealthy after this diet, don’t expect to keep the weight off. And don’t forget to take the coconut oil (natural, virgin)when you can start taking the good oils again. This is very important to keep your metabolism up and your intestines working good. Clean up your whole lifestyle! Good Luck
I started the HCG diet on Monday September 16 th and lost 15 LBS in the first week (today is Friday). I use Apple Cider Vinegar on every salad I eat along with hot sauce. I only eat one sliced apple with cinnamon in the morning, a salad with 5 oz of meat at lunch and a 5 oz PC of fish or chicken for dinner with cucumber salad with the Apple Cider Vinegar. Grapefruit or strawberries at night for the last fruit of the day. I will stay on this diet for 45 days and I plan on losing 50 LBS!! This diet has really worked so far and I will report back to all readers on September 29th…..
I am currently on my second round. This time I lost 6 Lbs during my gorge days, and I have been starving. Are there any recommendations to what i may be able to do? The diet makes me feel great otherwise!
Well, during your gorge days you should not be losing weight. You need to gorge on especially fatty foods and take lots of Coconut oil with your food. Use it fry your eggs and meat, use it to butter your bread and crackers etc. Also space out your foods. Take an apple in the morning when you get hungry. I take mine at about 9 – 10 am. Then your lunch. Save the cracker or the fruit, or a vegetable for a snack mid-afternoon, and from supper save something for evening. Space out your eating and you will find yourself less hungry and losing more. If you are on the drops you can take a few more drops every time you take them till this hunger goes away and then decrease again.
Well day 10 and I’m down 16 LBS now. The weight loss has not been as fast, but I’m still losing 1.60 lbs per day. If your starving on this diet drink lots of water.
How is it going for you now, Bob? Did you reach your goal?
Hello All, I ordered the HCG Oral Spray from NubodyRX.com yesterday I am waiting on it’s arrival! I am nervous and excited at the same time. I am 5’7 and weigh 211 lbs. I am not a big eater now, and actually eat very healthy foods most of the time. I am from the south so most people fry foods, but I try to stay away from fried foods. I bake, broil, and grill most of my foods. I use fresh herbs and garlic on EVERYTHING.. so I do not feel like this diet will be hard for me. The only time I crave sweets is around my ovulation time, and then the rest of the month I am good. I do however drink very little water and I use sugar in my coffee. That is the only thing I feel like is going to bother me. I am doing the 30 day diet, which means 21 days of the 500 calorie diet. I was actually thinking today that the reason for the “Gorge” period was to flood your body with food so that you are not so hungry during your first week. After ready these posts I found out my guess was correct. I want to lose 61 pounds. My goal weight is 150. With that said, I wonder if anyone can answer this question for me. I am wondering after my 30 days on this diet do I go back to eating a normal calorie diet? What do I do for the 6 weeks I am waiting in between my phases/cycles? I use olive oil when cooking most of the time. I know I am not allowed to use that during the diet phase, can I resume the use of it after that? I also take anti-anxiety medication as well as pain medication (PRN) for a double compression herniation in between L4 and L5 (which I hope I can stop after I lose the weight), but will this affect my weight loss? I need a pump me up today. Please tell me that I am making a great decision in choosing this diet and type of weigh loss plan. I need to hear more positives. Good luck to all who are on it and wishes for better bodies, and new healthier lifestyles! Blessings to All!!!
I did the 500 calorie part of the diet for 35 days and ended it on Aug. 13. I lost 40 pounds and am now on the second 3 weeks of maintenance. The 6 weeks maintenance is heaven on earth. You have to watch your starches and sugars constantly but I’m eating around 1600 to 1800 calories a day. I’ve lost 3 pounds on maintenance and am not hungry at all. I’m looking forward to losing the last 30 pounds I need to take off on another round of HCG.
As to mixing vegetables in 500 calorie phase, I never could. Whenever I did, I stalled or gained a pound. As long as I followed the protocol exactly, I lost .5 to 1 pound a day. Shrimp stalled me also so I avoided it until I hit maintenance. If you’re doing well on the diet and mixing vegetables, kudos to you but for me, I couldn’t do it.
Hello all Hcg dieters:} I have now been on the diet for 8 days and have lost a total weight of 13.5 lbs. I follow the diet to a tee, and obviosuly it is working for me. I mix veggies everyday and I am loosing everyday that I weigh. I do only eat one fruit a day and that is only with lunch and dinner. Oh and to clarify something there are only five fruits listed on this diet if you are being told something different they are not giving you the correct info. The fruits that you may eat are only Oranges, Apples and strawberries and blueberries with an occasional 1/2 of grape fruit if needed. Good Luck to you all.

Blueberries aren’t on the original protocol.
hi this is my third day on the hcg injections and i have only lost 2 lbs total and im a little disappointed i am following the diet exactly as it says i should. can anyone give me some pointer and what i can do to maximize my weight lost.
If you read Dr.Simeon’s book, you will lose more on the fifth and sixth injection. Be patient. Just follow the list of foods and don’t cut corners and do not substitute. I learned the hard way. Maybe it works for others but not for me. good Luck
I started with my injections and gorge days 6 days ago, and on the third day when I was supposed to start 500 cal diet, got thrown back by my kids getting sick. Sleepless nights+ sick kids , resulted in my overindulging at the end of the day, even though I thought that “this day” will be just fine . I have successfully completed a first day of 500 cal protocol, but cannot help but worry, if I’ve done much damage with 6 gorge days over 2.
Any thoughts? Please, help.
You should be fine! You might not lose as fast or maybe you will lose faster in the beginning but I would continue on it and stick to the VLCD. I had to go off 5 days because I forgot all my supplies at home and had to go to a funeral and as soon as I got home got back on it last week and keep losing. So just give it time. I’m sure it will all work itself out.
I am starting the drops this weekend. I am using Saturday as my first gorge day and then starting the drops on Sunday (along with my 2nd gorge day) – and Monday I will start the 500 cal diet. My question is that I swim 5 days a week for 40 minutes each morning – can I continue this? Thanks for any info that anyone can give me on this diet – also – I am on the drops – so do i need to take these at 12 equal intervals or when is the best time to take them?
Just started the 500 calorie diet yesterday, except that somehow I ended up over 600, but still woke up to a 3.4 lb. weight loss. Yay! Yes, I’m hungry, but not overly so. Drinking herbal tea helps. I’m excited and yet was also wondering if there’s anyone out there who has kept off the weight for more than a year…or two?

I have buy the HCG Diet on 458 USD!!
Do you think this is a commercial price in the market?
I’m not sure and need support! What do you think about this price??
Please very urgent!
My doctor is putting me on this diet. I have 50 pounds to lose that I have had for 11 years. I’m 49 and never grew up fat. Having this extra weight has been such a burden and caused so many health problems. I have tried everything before this. I’m hoping that this is really going to work. I have seen almost all positive results and feedback.
My concern is that I have gall stones. The diet says that it will aggravate the problem. I’m working hard with supplements to reduce the size and eliminate them before this diet. Has anyone else had this problem?
I also get migraines. I won’t be able to stand having a week long headache. More water?
Please advise. I start right after Christmas….in fact, Christmas will be one of my gorging days.
Thanks.
$458!!!! way to much. tried the injections but th bruising was too long lasting. I went to the drops . Just finshed my gorge . I had 4 days because of cold meds that had sugar etc. But I finished my 1st vlcd today and was careful to eat right.
I am on the road all day so I had to wait til 4pm to eat my apple to hold me til got home to have lunch 7;30 dinner 1145! Just to try to get the meals in.
Now I will carry fruit with me. There is NO WAY you can eat out
Hang in there… you CAN eat out! Just ask for fish or chicken and ASK that it be grilled with only salt/pepper with no oil/butter… on top of romaine or some other lettuce with no dressing. Bring your own little spray bottle of the raw apple cider dressing ( mixed w/ stevia, salt, pepper lemon juice). It’s boring but dependable! Try to pick a good restaurant that has good quality meat that doesn’t inject it ahead of time with some sort of sugar substance.
I am starting the gorge on Friday but would like to know if taking paxil and thyroid medication will adversely affect my weight loss. I also take minimal estrogen twice a week. Can anyone help me with this dilemma please?
It’s important to note that there are different HCG programs depending on your doctor/company. Mine allows mixing vegetables unless there is a problem. Mine also says no turkey, but I know of other programs where turkey was allowed and mixing veggies a complete taboo. I suspect it depends on what is in your HCG formula or something. The menu is not just as simple as what “Pounds and Inches” says because there are many variations on the program that are just as effective. FYI… I’m on day 17, and down 10 lbs and a lot of inches. Other than struggling with a plateau right now, all seems well. Good luck everyone!
Hey fellow HCG dieters. Iam thtilled with this diet. I am on day 7 and have lost 7 lbs. I have tried soooo many differect programs, diets, pills, and even shots and never lost this quickly.. Yes, I did lose some, but it was sooooo slow, that I quickly got discouraged. The to top it off, I would gain it all back.
I am excited with HCG. I have 65 lbs that I need to lose. Wow, that is a lot, yet I was in denial and never accepted being obese. I was just full figures. hahah what a joke. NOw, I can admitted, because I see there is hope. Not like have to be this way for the rest of my life, which I kind of believed. Now I know I can be slim and healthy again. Two maybe three rounds of this and I am done. Wow, that is really something to look forward to.
I am super motivated, excited, happy, and GOD knows how many other adhectives I can use. I can’t wait to see myself after round 1. Then after round 2. Thank you Dr. Simeon.
For those of you that are starting. Go for it. What have you got to lose, but weight. I am taking the drops and I don’t feel hungry. Well, maybe a little, but seeing the number drop everyday, it is well worth it.
Welcome to the HCG diet and let stay in touch and keep motivating each other. We CAN do it!
I am curious my doctor put me on this and was wondering why he didn’t have do the loading days? I read that it helps with the hunger and have to admit I was the first two days,. I am now on day 5 and have lost 7 lbs and feel great !! I might mention that I have had a sinus infection and am on zpak
Hey guys, I found all your info very interesting. It’s also nice to know that I’m not alone out there, eating all these boring foods. My question is can I eat beef broth? I read the label and it has no sugar, no carbs, none of the foods that aren’t aloud. Anyone know the answer?
BTW – I forgot to mention, I lost 18 lbs last January in one round of hcg and kept it off for a year. So this really does work!!! This time I’m 7 days in & have lost 9 lbs already… it’s awesome.
Thanks
Hi Andrea, I use beef broth all the time- I just make sure that it does not have any sugar, honey, MSG, etc. I have found a couple different ones that work find, and use either beef or chicken broth almost every time I cook- it adds a lot more flavor.
Hey everyone,
I just want to start off by saying that in 5 days (including the 2 fat loading days) i lost 10 pounds. I didn’t do anything different yesterday (sunday) my 6th day on the diet, and when i woke up this morning and weighed myself, i found that i had actually gained back a couple pounds. Is it normal for the weight to fluctuate like this? or will i wake up tomorrow to more weight gain?
At first i didn’t like this diet. It gave me a headache, made me nauseous, and kind of dizzy/light headed. But i stuck with it and persevered through it, and now i feel awesome! i’m actually seeing weight loss for the first time, so you can see how disappointed i was this morning when i woke up to weight gain. PLEASE HELP!
No, no weight gain is normal at all. You should go back and double check your diet & make sure your only eating what’s on the list from Dr, Simeon. Any variance could cause problems. This is my second round on this diet and this time I’m on day ten days and have loss 14 lbs. Good luck to you!!
I just love the regulation and enforcing organics foods as a mandatory change in my life. Even if I dont do the HCG part Im just happy to motivated to change the way I think of food forever. My health and my family are important to me and I would like us to be wholesome inside and out. Weight loss would be great but my health is always the goal. Good luck to us all! 😉
Good morning. I am on day 19 (1st round) on the HCG drops. I lost 8 lbs. the first week, 6 more by day 14, but then I didn’t lose or gain for 4 days, which was so frustrating. I read several of these blogs, and thought that I may not be drinking enough water, so I increased and then lost 2 this morning. So 16 lbs in 19 days. I do have a question, I live in Michigan and my skin has been so dry, is there anything I can use as lotion for body and face?
I’ve been told that you can use a bit of mineral (baby) oil in a spray bottle to minimize how much you end up putting on.
I’ve been on this diet for ONLY TWO DAYS and I have lost 72 pounds. WOW!!!!! 72 Freakin lbs. in JUST TWO DAYS.
Patrick
Obviously you have a good sense of humor, but this website is for people that are really serious about sharing quality information about the HCG diet.
I am about to start this diet but would like to know if I can add the flavored Stevia to all the plain water I will be drinking as I really do not like plain water. I usually add half a packet of Crystal Light to a liter of water for just a hint of flavor.
Patty,
Yes, you can add stevia to your water or tea. Good luck. I wish there were dates on these messages. So I’m not responding to someone who asked a year ago. Anyway….good luck again, to all!
I am into my 19th day of the diet and I do mix veg and sometimes fruit. I’ve lost 1 stone to date and do not feel hungry until later in the evening, so I try to save one of my Melba toast portions for that time.
I am confused as to exactly what a portion of Melba toast means? I’m in the UK and we have 100gram boxes, divided into 5 portions (6 toasts) at 20grams. I used 2 portions per day = 12 Toasts. Is this the correct portioning or not please …….. anyone? Thanks 🙂
On melba toasts… This is what I was told by people that actually lost weight: round melba: 2 square melba:1. This is very little bread. I suggest you go to a grocery store that sells italian fare and you should be able to find the grissini.
do NOT use the portions on the boxes.
Thank you ‘Lemony’ for the link to download Dr S’s book/report. I found it very interesting and with a lot more information than I had previously had passed on by those who had, even so, been successful with the diet. It seems to me that I should only eat 1 melba toast or breadstick a day if I’m reading it correctly!
I guess I should not complain because I have lost weight but I am going to make some changes following the reading of the downloaded details.
What I would like to ask is IF Dr S ever issued a follow-up (addendum) to this original report that may have come about from his continued study of the HCG diet (perhaps the introduction of other foods, issues, procedures, etc). If so, can someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks 🙂
Patsy,
You should get the 4 items twice a day. I use my grissini as “appetizer” and my fruit as a snack later after my meal (veggie and protein).
Hello NadineS ………… thank you so much for taking time to reply to my questions :).
I was using my 4 items for lunch and my evening meal but as I seemed to have quite a few days stuck on one weight, it was suggested that I should perhaps eat one of the portions of fruit for breakfast, as it might get my metabolism moving (I sit down all day at my desk). It does seems to have helped. I’ve lost in 21 days a total of 18lbs ……… at 62 years I’m feeling chuffed at what I have achieved so far. I need to continue for another three weeks but I guess like so many others, I find the selection of protein and vegetables so boring after three weeks, I yearn for some other protein at least!! :O
Does anyone know the effectiveness of this diet while taking depression medication?? Some of my meds actually slow down my metabolism. I am going through my doctor for the injections he didn’t seem to concerned.
Rhonda,
I also am taking an antidepressant ( paxil) and lost 30lbs in 40 days. I am not sure if I would have lost more had I not been on it. I just started asecond round and still on paxil and have lost 9lbs in 4 days. The paxil originally caused me to gain 30lbs really fast, which made me more depressed! I considered going off them so I could lose weight but I was really worried about the consequences of not being medicated. Having said all that, I hve had success being on meds and still losing a considerable amount of weight. Go for it! Good luck and hope you feel amazing about yourself!
Are the weight off drops something you have to use while doing the hcg drops?
What are weight off drops?
I’m not too sure. I got them in my package I bought. I probably should read on them a bit more. But I was asking because I’ve just heard purple talking about them and wasn’t sure if they were required or not.
I am trying the drops for the first time. I am on the 17 day and have lost any thing 5 days. I have tried the apple day and steak day but it has not helped. I did finally have several BMs. But I did not lose any weight. I also start my period during the five days of not losing weight. I lost 10 pounds and now it has just stopped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am getting real frustrated. I was so IMPRESSed with the drops at first and now I am not. HELP HELP!!!
i am on my second round of the hcg shots. the first round was so super successful. then i took a 2 week break because i hate shots!!! but this diet works really well and does what it says! i started at 172 and after the last day of my first round of shots i ended at 150. i maintained the 150 for the two week break period without much effort. i have just started my second round three days ago and have already lost three pounds. the one pound a day is true!!!! my body is used to this healthy change. i did go through a detox period of headaches and weakness but that only lasted for the first few days. now i’m good to go!!! can’t wait to hit my target weight of 130lbs!
I am on the 8th day of Hcg injections and losing slowly, but losing. I was just wondering if anyone out there has experienced any chest pains? I have been having some chest pains that feel as if I had a chest cold, but don’t.
Sandy…. if you are having chest pains, please see a doctor!
I have done this before, and have always been pleased with it… so now I am just playing the devils advocate… but if you can’t mix vegetables… then why is it okay to have say…. cabbage and strawberries for lunch? Not doubting… I am just super curious to the mechanics… is there a limit of sugar to not pass in a day? Are you all aware that iceburg LETTUCE has sugar in it? I digress… I am just wanting to know why I can’t have 2 veggies… but I can have a veggie and a fruit…?
I follow HCG diet plan that was established and started by Dr Simeons It’s cool since in my own experience, I have loss almost 1 pound per day……. I am confident because I have proven it to myself that it really works and now hcg is also my business :). Though I would rather use chicken than ground beef or turkey
I think this is indeed a very effective diet. I will continue my research to know if this is offered in my area. I have to lose weight because my physician advised me to.
6/21/11 was day 1 of loading & injecting HCG. i have now weighed in 10 mornings on phase 2 & have been following the plan to a tee. i am down 9 lbs. i have found a few things that work and a few that do not. i realize that everyone is different and have decided the best thing i can do for myself is listen to my body. expecially the last 2 days. i have been having issues w/ my heart skipping beats. i thank everyone for sharing experiences online. i read where this may be due to electrolyte imbalance. also read that powerade, smart water & other similar options are good for this. i grabbed one of my son’s powerade zeros & have drank about 16 oz and feel better already. of course i won’t know until tomorrow morning whether i just screwed up but anything is better than thinking your heart is going to stop beating! i refuse to bow down and will see this to the end of my hcg supply. if i can lose 30 lbs i will be at an ideal weight for my body type. i am 5′ 71/2″ & weighed in @ 188.5 lbs after day 2 of loading. i would love to be 155-160lbs. i find the approved foods on this diet to be a relief. i have the support right now of my husband which is so important. he is not expecting me to cook for him like i normally do…SOUTHERN COOKING…and that’s all i have to say about that!!! i am eating the things i would CHOOSE to eat all the time and am loving it. grant it, i would like to eat more than 500 calories worth of these foods!!! i motivate myself w/ favorites. i know i cannot have something i really love back to back so i look forward to having something in a couple of days from now and next thing you know, days fly by and i am losing almost a pound a day. my husband asked me the other day how i was feeling. i told him i feel ‘clean’!!! best wishes to everyone and thanks for sharing your experiences…
I am nearing the end of my hCG diet. I’ve lost 45 lbs, my wife has lost 50+. The last few pounds take a long time compared to the 2+ I was losing in the beginning. Altogether I think I have around 60 days on the diet–I had a couple stalls. My parents and my wife’s parents, plus some friends, are doing it as well. Our supplier is personalhcgdiet.com. They give an e-book of Pounds and Inches along with a simplified summary in the beginning with the purchase. It’s competitively priced, not too expensive or cheap–but I know it works.
I started Hcg On Aug 23, 2011….I was told to binge for 3 days (not 2) The first day after the VLCD I lost
8/23 Injection day 1:(binge) 163lbs : starting weight
8/24 Injection day 2:(binge) 162.8
8/25 Injection day 3:(binge) 162.9
8/26 Injection day 4:(VLCD) 163.7
8/27 injection day 5:(VLCD) 161.9
8/28 Injection day 6:(VLCD) 160.8 (I over ate and drank beer this night)
8/29 Injection day 7:(VLCD) 162.7 (if i didn’t drink and eat the nachos, I prob wouldve lost 1.9 oppose to gaining it) Today I drank alot of tea and added some powdered fiber-hoping to flush out system. I een took some phentermine, to help with the cravings) I felt extermly bloated all day> while I was driving my stomach felt and reminded me when I was preganant- Im not sure if this was from the over eating yesterday or if this is from the HCG
On the plus side
I’m down:
waist : 2″
Hips 1/2″
Thighs: 1″
chest: 2″
each calf: 4/9″
total for this week down: 8 5/9″ in week 1
As per my measurements Under armpits got bigger and so did half way from belly button to hips: So im hoping Im not just shifting weight around—or maybe thats just where I held last nights over eating and Beer—–like a beer belly
I have done this diet once before and lost 26 pounds in 23 days. Everyone is different and can get away with different things. I can drink diet soda and it doesn’t change anything for me (even though it is terrible for you). I can also eat a few pieces of sugar free chocolate and it has no effect. You really just have to play around with it and be sure to watch the scale very closely, it will tell you what you can’t eat. 🙂
