Hand pain causes

Work never leaves us. If we consider living away from our work place and plan to stay in a place where people would not disturb us, we just can’t avoid work saying “I don’t want to do that”. Our organs need to work anyhow; physically or mentally. Even while we are doing mental work, our bodies move. The part of our body which moves most among all is our hands. Therefore, it is very normal to have sudden pain in our hand. Even though there is no any particular reason for hand pain, it is important to take this issue seriously. Hand pain may develop for a bunch of reason. Fracture and infection are the most serious form of hand pain whereas, sprains and strains happen to people more commonly.

Several types of conditions affect the hand and cause pain. Arthritis is one of the most common causes of hand pain. Arthritis is joint inflammation and commonly occurs at the base of the thumb. The pain associated with arthritis may be from many different sources, like the synovial membrane, tendons and ligaments. Inflammation of these can cause severe pain in hand which is a type of arthritis among many. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease, the most common type of arthritis in older people. It is a slow-progressing disease that primarily affects the hands and the large weight-bearing joints of the body, such as the knees and hips. Carpal tunnel syndrome is another disease which can generate hand pain in many extents. In this disease, the median nerve is compressed as it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist, a narrow confined space. Therefore, people suffering from this disease may have trouble making fist or gripping objects with the hands. There are some forms of hand pain, which are the most common reason of having hand pain.

Arthritis is not only a reason of having hand pain. There are some other reasons as well which can generate pain and cause inflammation. Gout is a disorder which is characterized by too much of uric acid in the body which can cause severe pain in the joints. When the crystals of the uric acid deposit in the joints, it causes irritation and joints pain. This disease is called Gouty Arthritis. Infectious arthritis is another from of joint pain, soreness, stiffness and swelling which is caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi. However, mostly the knees get affected with this infection. Muscle strain can also be a cause of hand pain. Muscle strain is stretching or in some cases tearing of muscle fibers which can cause irritation in any part of our body, and in severe cases, the muscle may be torn and not capable to function properly.

These are some of the common and most frequent issues of hand pain. It is important to consult with doctors regarding the issues that may create doubts in mind. The treatment for hand pain will be different since there are many reasons that can be responsible for a specific type of pain. If the pain is associated with any type of arthritis, it is important to go and consult with a doctor and take proper medication for that. However, if the pain is associated with any type of muscle strain, it is important to be careful during doing exercise. For example, doing some warm up activities before start doing exercise can reduce the probability of muscle strain. It is important to follow exercise programs which are aimed at stretching and straightening muscles that help to increase the flexibility of the muscles. Some awareness regarding the consequences can resolve the problem in many ways.

Even though hand pain can happen to any of us, older people need to be careful about the strain and stretches. They are more vulnerable group to have this more frequently. Another important thing to keep in mind that, doctors can suggest the right medication that a person need or do the counseling regarding the problem. Therefore, without consulting with doctors, it is better not to try any medication or exercise in hope of getting better.
